Doctoral Symposium on Artificial Intelligence

 
The Doctoral Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (SDIA 2015), in its fourth edition, is a satellite event of EPIA 2015 – Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, to be held in Coimbra, Portugal, between the 8th and the 11th of September, 2015.

SDIA 2015 aims at being a forum for discussion on post graduated studies and thesis on Artificial Intelligence; increasing the integration and the cooperation between researchers from this scientific area and promoting a better visibility of their ongoing work to the academic and industrial communities.

Reasons of interest

With the organization of this event, the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence – APPIA intends to stimulate the improvement of the quality of post graduated studies and Ph.D. thesis in the scientific area of Artificial Intelligence.

This event is addressed to all Ph.D. students whose work involves topics related to the scientific field of Artificial Intelligence.

The participation of the whole scientific community of Artificial Intelligence is both welcome and essential to give significance to this event.

SDIA Best Paper Award

A Doctoral Symposium on Artificial Intelligence Best Paper Award will be conferred to the student of a paper presented at the conference doctoral consortium, selected by the Doctoral Chair based on the combination of paper reviewing marks and the feedback of the Advisory Board. The award will be announced and bestowed at the conference.

Paper Submission

The participation in this event implies the submission, presentation and discussion of a scientific short paper that should present substantial results in theoretical, empirical or applied research, in any Artificial Intelligence field.

The short paper must be written in English and should be formatted according to the Springer rules for the LNCS editions (Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science), never exceeding 6 pages.

The document must include the following information: title, author and supervisor(s), abstract, keywords, beginning date and foreseen conclusion date. All papers submitted will be reviewed by some well-known specialists and all submissions will receive a report of the revisions.

All papers should be submitted in PDF format through the EPIA’2015 submission Website (select “Doctoral Symposium on Artificial Intelligence” track).

The best papers will be published in a volume of Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) by Springer (proceedings indexed by the Thomson ISI Web of Knowledge). All other accepted papers will be published electronically in the doctoral symposium proceedings.

Deadline for paper submission: March 23, 2015
Notification of paper acceptance: 27, April, 2015
Camera-ready papers due: 1, June, 2015
